technique
flow training is not about us teaching you. It is about you discovering something new and useful through an experience that we can create.
If you have read this website and think you know what we are about, you have missed the point. The learning we offer happens when you do something different and are pleasantly surprised to get the result you want.
Here is an opportunity for you to do just thatPlease follow the instructions carefully, because the outcome of the exercise may not be what you think it should be.
Technique One
You need a partner for this one.
Stand on balance in front of each other, with your feet under your hips, nice and relaxed.
Lift your right hands up as if you are going to shake hands, but one of you grip the other person’s wrist firmly (still allowing some bloodflow J)
The person who is being gripped - tense your arm, clench your fist and try to straighten your arm and push your hand slowly towards your partner. It’s very important that you don’t shift your weight forwards at all.
The person being gripped just keep your hand where it is.
The person who is trying to straighten their arm will find that they are pushing themselves back.
This is fine. It’s supposed to happen. Remember don’t lean forwards.
Now try it again, but this time open your hand, point your fingers forward, reduce the tension as much as possible, and straighten your arm.
This time you will find that your partner is pushed back.
Use the video to help.
