Communication happens at many levels in many different ways.
By coming into contact with unfamiliar situations and exercises, an awareness of the effectiveness of communication is developed. Verbal and non-verbal techniques are used in a wide variety of exercises to develop the individual’s communication skills.
Non-verbal communication includes haptics or physical touch, e.g. handshakes, a pat on the back; and voluntary and involuntary aspects of body language and facial expression.
